Guests at the WhataHoot distillery bar on King Street, one of the things to do in King's Lynn in October

Things to Do in King's Lynn in October at WhataHoot

The evenings are drawing in, the coats are coming out, and it's a good time to find somewhere warm to spend an evening. If you're looking for things to do in King's Lynn in October, our family-run distillery on King Street has a comedy night and a pizza night lined up, and our Gin School and distillery tours are running all month.

Here's what's on, when it is, and how to book.

What's on: things to do in King's Lynn in October

Two dates for your diary this month. Both are in the bar at the distillery, and places are limited, so it's worth booking early.

Thursday 15 October: Hooma Comedy at WhataHoot

Hooma Comedy is back with the WhataHoot Comedy Club. Doors-to-laughs starts at 19:00 and tickets start from £15.

It makes a good midweek night out. Grab a table with friends, order a drink from the bar and let someone else do the talking for a couple of hours. If you've never seen live stand-up somewhere this small, the up-close feel is half the fun.

Tickets are sold through Hooma's ticketing partner. You can book your seats for the October comedy club here.

Friday 23 October: Street Food Friday with Pizza Slice Guy

Street Food Friday returns on Friday 23 October from 18:00, with Pizza Slice Guy serving fresh handmade pizzas at the distillery.

To go with it, we're offering a Pizza Night Pour Pass for £10, which gets you two selected drinks on the night. Choose from:

  • Selected draught beer
  • House wine
  • Prosecco
  • Soft drinks

Just so you know, pizza isn't included in the ticket price. You order and pay for it separately from Pizza Slice Guy on the night (a Margherita is £12, to give you an idea). The pass sorts out your drinks, so you can turn up, order a pizza and settle in.

It's an easy, relaxed end to the working week. You can book your Street Food Friday Pour Pass here.

Make something of your own: Gin School and tours

If you'd rather go behind the scenes than sit back with a drink, October is a good month for it. Book them as a day out or keep them in mind for Christmas presents.

Gin School

Our Wise Old Owl Gin Making Experience is where you get properly hands-on. You choose your botanicals, play around with the balance of flavours and leave with a bottle you made yourself. It's the sort of thing people remember long after the gin is gone.

It's a popular gift for birthdays and other occasions, and you can buy vouchers for two people or one person.

Distillery tours

Our tours are an easy way in. Step through the King Street door, see where and how we make our spirits, and taste a few along the way. They suit curious visitors and locals who've walked past and always wondered what goes on inside. A distillery tour voucher also makes a thoughtful present for someone who'd like an experience more than another thing to unwrap.

Something to take home

If you're visiting this October, you can pick up a bottle before you leave. A few from our range:

Coming up after that, our Sloe Gin arrives in November. It's a proper autumn and winter bottle, so watch out for it if you like a seasonal sipper.

Looking ahead to November

If October is booked up, don't worry. The events carry on into next month, including our November Quiz Night. Gather a team, sharpen your general knowledge and come and join us.
