A family distillery in a King's Lynn warehouse.

Jason and Nicky Crown started WhataHoot in 2017 with one question: could we make this ourselves? Today the stills, the Pantry shop, the Gin School and the bar all share one restored warehouse just off King Street, named after the barn owls heard across the Norfolk countryside.

Questions we hear at the bar

Where is the WhataHoot Distillery?

We're at 7a King Street, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE30 1ET, the shop, Gin School and bar are all in the same restored warehouse.

How fast do you deliver?

Order before 11am on a working day and we dispatch the same day. UK delivery is free on orders over £50.

What happens at Gin School?

Our Wise Old Owl Gin School is a 4 hour session on your own still. You choose from more than 30 botanicals, distil your recipe, name it and take the 70cl bottle home. One still can be shared by two people.

Do your gift vouchers expire?

No. There's no expiry date on a £10 note, so there isn't one on our experience vouchers either. Choose email or a printed card posted to you, and the recipient picks their date.

Can I book a table at the bar?

Yes, book online in a minute, or just walk in. We also host private hire, birthdays and corporate events.

Do you supply pubs, hotels and shops?

Yes. We supply trade across the UK and offer white label and corporate gifting. Existing customers can order through the trade portal.
